Squish! Favorite Collapsible Mixing Bowls

Squish me please! I've just had the opportunity to take my new Squish 3-quart mixing bowl for a test run and I'm loving it!

I was browsing in my local Target store a few days ago and saw an end cap display with all these fabulous Squish collapsible bowls and thought they were such a clever design that I had to have one. A large part of the appeal for me is that they are collapsible, which means an entire set takes up very little cupboard space. As someone who has spent a lot of years cooking in small apartment kitchens, and as someone who has spent years helping others organize their homes, I'd give these 5 STARS for form and functionality. Amazon sells them too, via another Squish retailer, so even if you can't get to Target, you can still pick up one or more of these fabulous mixing bowls for your own kitchen...or RV...or dorm room.

More reasons to give them big kudos:

  • They're lightweight and easy to handle.
  • They're perfect for mixing up pancake batter, cake mix and more.
  • They come in bright, cheery colors.
  • They're BPA free.
  • They have a non-slip base.
  • They're dishwasher safe.
  • They have a handy pour spout.

I should note however that they are NOT microwave safe (but neither are my stainless steel mixing bowls.) They're great for most recipe mixing, both dry and wet ingredients in general, and I'll most likely order more of them so that I'll have one of every size (1.5 qt, 3 qt. and 5 qt.) I do want to also note that these bowls (like many other plastic, silicone or acrylic) are not good for mixing items that need to be kept cold. For instance, I wouldn't use these to mix up a batch of whipped cream -- but then again, I have stainless steel bowls for that.

There's an entire collection of Squish available, and although I don't consider measuring cups or spoons to be big drawer or counter space hogs, it's nice to have matching sets! Here are three more selections from the Squish kitchen collection you might enjoy.

Do you have any collapsible mixing bowls?

  • Yes, I have the Squish ones and love them.
  • I have one or more of another brand.
  • Not yet, but now I definitely want to try them!
  • No. I'm okay with the bowls I already own.

My family did a lot of camping and car traveling when I was a kid, and collapseable cups/bowls was the way to go! My mom just bought a new set, in fact, to take with us on a trip abroad!

I'd love to try that squish colander. It seems they always take up a lot of room in a cabinet. Congrats on Review of the Day!

Interesting concept. I'd love to see how they squish and how they stay small in storage. These would be perfect in a tiny home, where every square inch of space is important--something we are considering in a few years.

Congratulations on receiving Review of the Day. Well deserved!

I used to have a plastic drinking glass that squished down when I was a kid. I'd forgotten all about it. Well done on Review of the Day.

Congratulations on Review of the day! Aren't these clever inventions. I totally agree. I'd have to have one too. Actually several look interesting. The colander would save a lot of space especially. Great review!

I have an addiction to bowls and these sound like they'd be great to have around for an extra set of mixing bowls. I really like that they take up so little space too. Congrats on your review of the day!
